Mia's Carnival Party (3rd Birthday)

Here are some pics from Mia's carnival party. Overall the party was a huge success! We had a bounce house, cotton candy maker, and popcorn maker. We also had games that Luis built and painted. Dart/ balloon game, and throw the football through the hole. The prizes were a bunch of stuffed animals that Luis won for me while dating 19 years ago. Yes I hung on to them this long LOL! The kids loved it and had a blast!

On Saturday we went into Dr. Werlins office for our embryo transfer. We ran into a couple by the names of Josh and Veronica who said that my blog helped them through their IVF journey. It made me feel so good to know that I am helping couples along the way by sharing my story. Josh and Veronica we are so happy for you guys and wanted to thank you for the positive energy. Okay so wednesday night Mia comes over to me grabs my hand and says Mama pee pee! She walks me to her potty chair and says again pee pee. So we take her diaper off and she not only pees in her potty chair but she poops!!!! We haven't even started training yet! We were waiting for her 2nd birthday which is at the end of this month. I guess she is ready. Last night she says pee pee again to me, and goes in her chair. I am beyond excited, hopefully this means that this will be a smooth transition. Either way I am very proud of her and so sad at the same time:( My baby girl is growing up. Luis and I were looking at a baby book of pictures from her first year and now she is turning two. I am so emotional about it. Please time slow down, you are killing me:(

20 Months

I know 20 months is not a milestone but Mia has changed so much in the last month. She has lost that baby face and is looking like a little young lady:) She is so sweet and so loving except for that little Cuban temper that comes out every once and while LOL! she gets that from her dad of course:) She is very stubborn, I will take responsibility for that trait but she just knows what she wants:)

I know every parent is proud of their child but I am especially proud. Mia is only 20 months and she has the best manners without being prompted by mom or dad. She says please, thank you, your welcome, bless you and excuse me all on her own. I think its absolutely adorable and I couldn't be more proud of her.

This was Mia's first time walking on her own at the beach. She has been to the beach a lot but always on the Pier never in the water or sand. We decided to meet her auntie, uncle and cousin. She loved it, we saw a seal swim by the surfers and a wave got a little too close but she just laughed:)

Saying Goodbye to our Sophia

Yesterday was the one the saddest days by far, we had to say goodbye to our first baby Sophia. She was so much more than a dog to us, she was a family member:(

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an animal lover. I would rescue every dog off the street if I could. I found Sophia 12 years ago on a major street in Corona. She almost got hit by a car! I stopped my car and called my best friend. Hao and I chased her up and down the street. She was very scared very skinny and very dirty. We took her in gave her a bath, fed her, took her to the vet and filed a report with the local animal shelter. To my surprise nobody claimed her. I took her home knowing my husband was probably going to kill me but She was absolutely adorable and I just had to have her. Luis thought my story was fishy because I had been bugging him for a dog before I found her, needless to say she won him over. From that day forward she was a princess and was spoiled completely. She ruled the house and loved every minute of it. She was very over protective of me, in fact every night when Luis would come to bed Sophie would try to attack him she did not want to share her mom:) every time we would go on vacation she would get very sad and hop in our suitcase. She went everywhere with us, she loved car rides. I used to sneak her in stores and carry her like a baby. People thought I was insane but she was my baby. Sophia was not your typical dog she was very human like, she was such a love bug.

She was the love of my life and got me through so many hard times. I may have saved her but the truth is she saved me. If it weren't for Sophie I would have gone insane during my infertility struggle. She brought us 12 years of absolute joy! Sophia we love you, you will be missed more than you could ever know. We know you are in heaven and we will be reunited some day.

Recently my friend Sara and I took the girls to pretend city. It is so cute inside and the girls absolutely love it! Mia decided to collect the bugs in the garden area instead of picking fruit and vegetables LOL! Also while Caroline looked adorable playing in a princess costume on the stage, Miss Mia decided she would rather play in the hard hat builder area and play with the tools. Her Papa would be so proud:) I love the BMW shot! All in all it was a great day we ended up at the spectrum later for lunch. The girls had a blast:)

A couple months ago my sister and I were shopping in baby Gap (Of Course, my favorite store) when she came across this zebra, she showed it to Mia and she absolutely fell in love with it! I was shocked because she doesn't usually play with her stuffed animals at home. Sara bought it for her, and it is her new buddy. Zee Zee goes everywhere we go, except at Papa and Grandma Cheryl's house because the dogs will tear it to pieces. Ha Ha! Here are some cute pics with Mia and Zee Zee:)

Saturday morning Luis was trying to get Mia to eat more of her yogurt when he put the spoon to her mouth she turned her head and said NO! We both started laughing because we have been wondering when the NO and MINE would start, guess Miss Mia is starting to get a mind of her own:) Her newest thing is her purse. She will not let the thing go. It has to go to bed with her and she tried to take it in the bath, I had to place it on the counter where she could see it and assure her that she could have it back as soon as she gets out of the bath:) She is like a little old lady with a death crip on it. Nobody is taking her purse from her LOL!!!!!!

Okay so Mia had an audition for a Ralph Lauren campaign, and although we didn't get a call back how exciting is it that her very first audition was for Ralph Lauren:) Not sure if everyone knows this but Mia was signed with LA MODELS:) so this is just the first of many auditions to come:) she definitely needs to get used to the camera but I am sure practice makes perfect! She is our beautiful little angel and we love her so much! We are so proud of her!

Picking out a surprise XMAS Tree?????

Well this year was a first for me. Usually when we go to pick out the christmas tree Luis wants to kill me. Its something that he dreads because I usually have him untie about 12 trees before I am happy with one to bring home. This year Luis jokingly said how about we just get this one and take it home? (Thinking for sure that I would say NO WAY) I said okay. He was shocked and started taking it up to get cut before I changed my mind. LOL! He told the tree guy this is the first time in 14 years that my wife let me get the first tree and un-wrapped! The guy said you better hope its a good one:) I was actually surprised! The tree was actually a good one, we got lucky. I took a picture of the tree on the car because Luis mentioned it was another reason why he should have never gotten rid of his truck! As you can see we got the tree transported just fine. I will never live the truck situation down! I am going to put it in Mia's book:) Anyway here are a few pics from our trip.

I am so excited to tell you all about my new baby line, I am hoping to launch soon. Its going to be an online baby boutique where you can buy beautiful baby items such as personalized baby blankets, blankies, burp cloths and other inspirational baby items all hand made with love by me:) I am working on getting products up and running. The name comes from my nick name for Mia. I call her Mimi and and lullaby just seemed fitting because of the blankets. Wow how can this be that my sweet baby girl is one! It seems like just yesterday that they set her on my chest after shocking us by saying IT'S A GIRL! This year has flown by so fast and its amazing how much she's changed.This day is so bitter sweet.I am so sad to see the baby things packed away but at the same time excited to start our new adventure. Mia has the sweetest personality, she is so funny and so smart. She has started walking, she is not at a 100% yet but she is getting there. She is winking too, I have yet to capture that on camera but still working on it. She brings so much joy to my life, I can't explain it. After so many years of painful infertility, my life is finally complete. She is my entire world and I could not be happier. I will never take her for granted, for she is truly a miracle from above:)

Mia's First Fair

Not too long ago we decided to go the Orange County Fair. We went with our friends Brian, Sara and their daughter Caroline. We had so much fun, we always laugh a lot with them. We started with a fresh basket of fruit, it was filled with blackberries, raspberries, cherries, grapes, strawberries and blueberries and it was very good. We decided that each of us would try some kind of food outside of our comfort zone. So we ended up sharing Deep fried Oreo's (my favorite and very delicious) then deep fried Smores, then we moved on to chocolate covered licorice and last but not least chocolate covered bacon. This was just okay not what we imagined it would be. For dinner we had these huge gigantic sausages they were so big that we shared them and for dessert of course we had a funnel cake. We probably gained about 10 pounds that day but we didn't care because we were at the fair. Toward the end of the night we were sitting in front of a stage where they had duelling pianos. We were singing and laughing and the girls had a blast. I didnt get too many pictures but here are the ones I did get. Oh we saw a mama pig with her babies they were one day old that day, soooooo cute:) Did I mention that Mia has found her nose????? ha ha! Awww gotta love this stage!

Magic Mountain

Luis wanted to take the girls (Tay & Pey) to Magic Mountain so we decided to get a group together and went. It was ridiculously hot that day. We were all sweating and got these huge souvenir cups so we could get free refills all day. They were playing Michael Jackson music througout the park when we first got there as a tribute. Even though the heat pratically killed us we had a great time. I forgot to get a group shot:(

I can't believe it! Everyday brings something new. Now Mia is starting to copy words, the other day she said CUTE, and she is helping now when I dress her putting her arms through the sleeves. Mia is a monkey, she climbs on everything. Last night she climbed out of her walker onto the couch to be with her daddy. She is so funny, she makes us laugh constantly, she gets that from her dad:)

Fathers Day at the Santa Ana Zoo

Fathers day was really nice this year, we took my dad out to breakfast with everyone like usual and Mia enjoyed seeing her papa. After breakfast we decided to go the Santa Ana Zoo. It really is sad because its so small but its perfect for Mia right now. We loved hanging out in the monkey area, I could have watched them all day. We were lucky it was another beautiful day and Mia loved being outside. They had this one section with birds and in the pond were the cutest turtles. There were tiny baby turtles swimming around, I wanted to hold one in my hand they were so cute!

Hi everyone, I am a bit behind in my posting we have been really busy lately. I have quite a few new posts so I better get busy. Okay so back on June 7th we used the other part of our 2fer ticket and went to California Adventure. This time my aunt Diane, my cousins Taylor, Peyton, and Kiana went along with my sister and niece. There wasn't a lot for Mia to do but she enjoyed herself anyway. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time:)

Mia's First Trip to Disneyland

Monday was my birthday and as most of you know Disneyland is letting you in for free on your birthday this year. We jumped on it because we couldnt wait to see Mia's face at Disneyland. She loved it! She was so good all day and got a taste of her first dole pineapple whip and loved every minute of it. We got her the minnie ears with her name on it, and a penny collection book. Thanks to her auntie Sara we have about 8 pennies already. Her great aunt Kristi bought her a very cute Minnie Mouse onesie so she was pretty much spoiled. She loved small world and the parade where she finally got to see Mickey and Minnie. Overall it was a great day and we will never forget it. We got the 2fer so we cant wait to go back for California Adventure where she can see Handy Manny:)

We just got back from our trip to San Francisco. We went to visit our friends Tony, Phoung and Xavier. Mia did so well on the plane, on our way up the flight wasnt full so she was able to stay in her carseat next to us. I nursed her on the take off and landing she had asolutley no problems. We had so much fun, and Mia had a blast with her friend Xavier, they are only two months apart.

14 years ago today we stood in front of a church filled with all of our friends and family and promised to love each other in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer until death do us part. Since that day we have been through so much, with tons of ups and downs and roller coaster rides. We dealt with the whispers of they will never last, or I give it a year but here we are stronger than ever. Who would have ever guessed that high school sweethearts could beat the odds? Now our life is so much fuller because we were blessed with the birth of our baby girl last year. Life is so good, and we have learned that by working together we can accomplish anything we want to. Thank you for bringing me so much happiness and for being the good man that you are.

Okay so we are at the mall getting Mia's pictures taken, and I told Luis that since she is in her easter dress we need to get her picture with the Easter Bunny. So we walk to the end of the mall and come across this bunny. Is this not the ugliest bunny you have ever seen? Then to top things off Santa was running the show. Ha ha, I kid you not, it was a mom and pop show and the guy had long white hair and a long white beard. Anyway long story short we knew if we didnt get her picture taken that day we probably would miss the opportunity so we did it anyway. She has a very sober face, she is probably thinking why is this ugly bunny holding me? Hey at least she is not crying, its for her baby book!

This was on Valentines day, she thinks she is such a big girl. She is laughing now and it just melts my heart. She is absolutely the best medicine for a crappy day at work. Octoplets Mother WTF??????

Every time I see this woman on the news I want to scream. I can not believe that the media is giving her so much attention not to mention money for interviews. This woman disgusts me. 14 kids, not that she doesn't have the right to have that many kids. But 3 different fathers, living at home with her parents in a 3 bedroom home, no job come on! Here is my question, she lives in California where the state is not mandated to help with infertility insurance. How in the world did this woman afford so many IVF treatments? Plus she had plastic surgery because she wanted to look like Angelina Jolie? (THAT DIDN'T WORK) How did she pay for that? It is just so sad to me, I know so many women who want to be a mother and would make a great mother plus they would be happy with just ONE baby but can't afford any more treatments. Some just haven't had any successful cycles. Its just not fair! Not to mention this doctor! He is giving IVF a bad name, he totally crossed the line here and definitely should have his license revoked! Those poor kids, and poor grandparents who are doing all of the work!

Mia turns 5 months today, she is growing and changing so fast. She rolls over all over the place from one side of the room to the other. She has definitely mastered the art of rolling over. Now she is trying to crawl, she moves her knees up and tries to push up but barely scoots an inch. She is still working on it. If you have something in your hand and she is interested in it, you better watch out because those hands will grab it before you know it! She is definitely more vocal now and expresses herself everyday:)

Believe it or not, this little outfit that Mia is wearing was mine when I was her age. My mom saved it all these years and gave it to me. I am trying to find the picture of me in it so I can put it next to Mia's. How funny, I always thought I was going to have a boy and that I would never get this picture because I just couldn't put this on a boy. Now I have my perfect baby girl and it looks so cute on her.

Celebrity Soccer game for charity

On January 17th my aunt Diane and the girls invited us to go to a celebrity soccer game. We had so much fun, it was a beautiful day and it felt so good to go somewhere and sit outside in the shade for a while. We saw a lot of stars, and Luis and I also decided to register ourselves for the bone marrow donation list. A couple of people who were very sick got to meet the people who donated the bone marrow that saved their lives, it was very touching. During the game they threw soccer balls into the stands. Mia's cousin Peyton caught one and had it signed by Mia Hamm and a few others and gave it to Mia for a souvenir. Mia's first trip to Goofy's Kitchen

Sunday was Mia's cousin Brandon's birthday. We all went to Goofy's kitchen. It was so much fun to watch her react to the characters. I wasn't sure if she was going to cry but she didn't. She would just stare at them, and was very interested in her everything around her. By the time we left she was exhausted and passed out in her stroller. Here are some pictures.

Okay so I was really bad and missed the opportunity to have Mia's 3 month milestone pictures taken. So we decided to take them for her 4 month mark instead of not at all. This was the second day! We went Friday after work and she was just not in the mood and was falling asleep. So we rescheduled for the next morning at 10:00 am for a fresh start. Yeah well as luck would have it, she was very sleepy and just fell asleep as soon as we got off the elevator to go to the portrait studio. We said well lets just get some of her sleeping so we didn't let another month pass us by. But the girls behind the counter insisted on waking her and said they could still get some good shots of her. So here they are. We weren't completely happy with them but here are some of the cuter ones.

Mia Turns 4 Months!!!!!!

Well on December 29th Mia turned 4 months. She has started to eat rice cereal now and she is doing well with it. Luis has a routine with her when he gets home from work. She has also started rolling over and is very proud of herself. It is too cute! Here are some pictures from that day.

This year Christmas had a new meaning for us. It was a year ago on December 17th that I just found I was pregnant! I couldn't believe it, after 13 years of negative pregnancy tests we finally saw two lines. It was one of the best days of my life. Now a year later and I hold my baby girl just watching her in amazement that she is actually here. I know that I say this all the time but I honestly thank God everyday for blessing my life with my beautiful baby girl. She is our miracle and I am reminded of that everyday when I see her face. Tomorrow is a big day, Mia turns 4 months. She is growing so fast and time is just flying by. Here are some pictures from Christmas.

Every single morning I am greeted with this face, Mia is so happy when she wakes up and melts my heart with our mornings together. She is my miracle and I thank God every single day for blessing my life with such a beautiful and healthy baby.

Poor Mia had her 2 month vaccines on Halloween of all days. She did better than I did and only cried for a minute. She is my tough little girl. My sister, Joe, and my niece Lanie came over for Halloween. We took Lanie trick or treating in our neighborhood. She got tons of candy. She was a cheerleader from High School Musical. And although Mia was squirt from finding Nemo we took her out in her orange "baby's 1st Halloween PJ's" this was a gift given from her friend Caroline:) She was nice and toasty all night.

Well today Mia turned 2 months. I can not even believe how fast the time is flying. I only have four more weeks with her and then I have to go back to work:( that day will be devastating but I am so thankful that my boss is letting me work from home for the morning part of my day, so I won't have to be away from her that long. My little angel is changing so much everyday, she has so much personality now. We are so blessed to have such a good baby.

Saturday was Mia's miracle baby reunion. Every year Dr. Werlin has a Miracle Baby reunion. We were so excited to see him again. He thought Mia was beautiful and gave us big hugs. We miss him so much and will definitely look forward to seeing him every year.

Mia is almost two months old and so far she has hated her swing. She would sit in there for about 10 minutes then she would want out! Now she likes it, in fact she has fallen asleep in it twice now.

My dad started a tradition with my sister and I every year around Halloween. We would go to Bate's Nut Farm in Valley Center. It's a really neat place. They have huge fields of giant pumpkins. There is also a family section with tons of food vendors, face painting, jump houses, petting zoos, hay rides, and a huge general store filled with tons of nuts,candy and crafts. We really love going there every year and I couldn't wait to take Mia since this is her first Halloween. Here are some pictures from the day.
